Hydroelectric Santa Teresa

Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) awarded Luz del Sur with a contract for the construction of the Santa Teresa 98MW run-of-river hydroelectric plant.

The plant will be located two miles up-river from the town of Santa Teresa in the Cusco region, 715 miles from Lima Peru; and will use water from Egemsa's Machupicchu hydro plant.

Luz del Sur has obtained all the permits necessary to move ahead with construction which will take 3.5 years.

Sempra International, LLC is not the same company as the utility, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) or Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), and Sempra International, LLC is not regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission.
