Sempra International is focused in meeting the energy needs of millions of customers throughout the Americas. The company develops, builds and operates natural gas infrastructure and distributes electricity and natural gas to customers in Mexico, Chile, Peru, Argentina and the United States.
In South America, Sempra International distributes electricity to more than 1.5 million customers through its subsidiaries: Chilquinta EnergĂa, the third largest electricity distributor in Chile; and Luz del Sur, an electric distribution utility serving the southern zone of metropolitan Lima, Peru.
Sempra LNG, a subsidiary of Sempra International, builds and operates LNG receipt terminals in North America. Sempra LNG developed the first LNG receipt terminal on the west coast of North America in Baja California, Mexico and a second terminal in Louisiana near the Gulf of Mexico.
Sempra International natural gas distribution companies include: Ecogas, a natural gas utility serving approximately 90,000 customers in northern Mexico; and a joint venture in Camuzzi Gas Pampeana and Camuzzi Gas del Sur, which are jointly the largest natural gas distributors in Argentina, in terms of volume. The company also operates natural and propane gas transmission pipelines in northern Mexico.
Additionally, Sempra International develops and operates electricity generation facilities including a natural gas-fired power plant and a wind-power generation project in development in Baja California, Mexico.
